Jacqui Barcos holds an M.A. from USC film school and a B.A. from Vassar College. Her thesis film, MALA SANGRE won a DGA award and screened at numerous U.S. and International festivals, including Palm Springs and the International British Short Film Festival.  Barcos is the recipient of a Kodak Grant and a finalist in the ABC/Disney Directing Fellowship Program.

Professionally, Barcos has worked for such film
companies as American Zoetrope and Miramax Films.  Most recently, she served as VP of Acquisitions for Cinema Management Group, a Foreign Sales company headed by Edward Noeltner (former EVP of International Sales for Miramax Films) as well as a film consultant for the Annenberg Foundation.  Barcos currently serves on the Board of the Alliance of Women Directors and on the Advisory Board of the Moth Storytelling series in NYC.  

Barcos’ writing credits include the feature scripts, “Molls,” “Evie” and “A Few Bad Men”(based on a pitch to Disney.)  She recently completed “CENTRAL PARK TALE” an animated feature with Daniel Jeanette (HAPPY FEET) attached as Director.  Her script, SUBTERRANEA, has garnered the endorsement of Doug Liman (BOURNE IDENTITY, MR. AND MRS. SMITH)   Currently in pre-production, SUBTERRANEA is Barcos’ feature directing debut.
